Meet Brian J White, an American actor, dancer, stock broker, football player and activist. Brian played in both the NFL and NLL (lacrosse), he earned his certifications as a licensed stock broker, and co-founded the professional dance company youth outreach organization Phunk Phenomenon Urban Dance Theatre.
Brian is also the co-founder of Black Carpenter (www.BlackCarpenter.org), a multi platform youth empowerment brand including a book, feature documentary and speaking tour designed to create a tool box of essential life skills for the next generation. Additionally White is a founding partner along with director, Sylvain White of Media 3 Films, LLC (www.media3films.com), a full-service film, television and broadband production company based in Los Angeles, CA.
Brian has appeared in television series including Moesha, The Parkers, MTV’s Spyder Games, UPN’s comedy Second Time Around and most notably, as Detective Tavon Garris on the award-winning FX crime drama, The Shield. His more notable roles were in the films ‘The Family Stone“, “Brick“, “Stomp The Yard“, “Fighting“, and “I Can Do Bad All By Myself“. He will be starring in the upcoming movie “The Cabin In The Woods“, and is currently starring in the tv series “Men of a Certain Age” and “CSI: Miami“.
