Check out the interview below for more:
1. What are the names of each member?
Brian, Gabriel, Laura, Trinity, and Dust bunny

2. Where are you all from?
Indianapolis, Hendersonville, TN, and Oak Grove, LA.

3. How did you get together?
The stars of Vega aligned with the third moon of Jupiter and Xero Sum was born.
GabeDustin and I are cousins and began jamming for fun. When we started to look seriously for other band mates, we ran across 2 guys that we formed a band with. One of them was trinity. Dustin left to form another group. When that band ended, trinity and I formed xero sum and after some time Dustin rejoined us. Brian was then added on bass, and Laura rounded out the group by replacing our original vocalist.

4. Did each of you always wanted to be apart of a band?
Brian: Ever since I was about 12

Gabe: I’ve wanted to make music in a band for most of my life. It’s been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember.

LauraI have always wanted to be on stage, whether it was with music or theatre.  Being in a band is such a fantastic way to express my music.

TrinityI felt that being in a band was a great and fun way to express the music that I love to make, and I was fortunate to hook up with other musicians that felt the same.

5. Who came up with the name XERO SUM?
Trinity and Gabe. It was based on the name of a television show [The X Files] episode that was entitle Zero Sum.  We decided to change the “Z” to an “X” because we are cool like that.

6. Who or what are some of your influences?
Brian: Personal influences: Metallica, Tool, Slayer, Black Dahlia Murder, Pennywise, and old AFI. Basically, punk and metal.

TrinityI’m influenced by just about anything, but my main influences are Tool, Metallica, Nirvana, and Rage Against the Machine.

Gabe: Personally my influences have been bands like Motley Crue, Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, Sevendust, and the list could go on and on. As far as my style behind the kit, that is a combination of tommy lee, Vinny Paul, and Morgan rose.

LauraI’m a huge blues and classic rock fan.  I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Grass Roots, BB King, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Mamas and the Papas, The Turtles, The Black Crowes and so many more!

7. How would you describe your music?
Hard Rock with female vocals. Since all of us have different musical influences, I think our sound is pretty unique.  While the guys have more of a heavy rock influence and I have more of a blues, the music forms into a pretty original style.

8. Who writes the songs, and what inspires your lyrics?
Trinity: I write a lot of the background music, and also the guys bring their own ideas to the table in complete form or partially, and we work together to complete it.  The vast majority of the lyrics are penned by Laura, but she also uses lines written  by other members as well.

9. Are you currently working on an album, and when are you planning on releasing it?
Trinity: We have over an album’s worth of material ready to go, it’s just a matter of financing.  I would hope to have a new album ready for release by summer 2011.

10. You’ve done live shows in the US, but do you have any plans of going overseas?
We will play anywhere if the funding is available…. Even your house.

11. Where do you see XERO SUM going?
Total global domination.
