What is your one-line positive thinking mantra?
I have so many of them that I rotate.
Describe your personality?
Very cool, and approachable. Positive force of energy. Funny and intelligent, yet also very shy and quiet. I tend to zone out a lot and it bugs people out sometimes!
What practices have you adopted that have led to a healthier lifestyle?
Having goals changes everything. I set a goal in my head just recently and consequently all of my actions changed. All my bad habits, like smoking cigarettes, are pretty much a distant memory to me now. When you have a goal, and you set it high and believe in it with all your heart, nothing will get in its way – only if you let it. Also, I’m only around people who feed me with their spirits and intelligence and whom I have the same effect on. If you have high self esteem, you won’t want to be around people who who don’t have any.
The world is going green, have you embraced the trend?
I’ve always been somewhat conscious of how I utilize energy and water. In a way, I think “going green” is a marketing scheme in order to buy products that are “greener” or lighten our carbon footprints, but when you think about it, these products are being mass marketed and shipped from A to B, using gas and emitting polutants, etc. So I am a bit wary of what is being considered “green” nowadays. I don’t take anything for granted and I tend not to waste, so I like to be conscious in that sense.
Provide us with a few tips and tricks for holistic living?
To each one’s own. I don’t believe in preaching how one should live their own life. We all have things that work for us individually. So I guess my advice would be to find what’s right for “you” the individual. I don’t believe there are any blanket rules, etc.
Describe your fashion style?
Sexy New York Dancer Tomboy
How do you unwind after a long week?
Stay in bed. Read. Write. Skype with the homies. Gchat with the homies. Talk on the phone. Watch Anchorman for the million-zillionth time or other comedies.
What empowers you?
My goals. Being a woman. Of course, knowledge. Always feeding myself knowledge and my willingness to learn constantly gives me power.
What is your favorite cuisine?
Jamaican food, Soul food and Vegetarian food. Hands down. Uptown Juice Bar on 125th Street in Harlem is my favorite spot – it combines all three.
How do you creatively express yourself?
Everything I do, down to my choice in socks, expresses my creativity. I’m not a very loud or talkative person. A lot of my artwork contain no words, only pictures. So when it comes to dance and or art, I just let go and let God do the talking. He can say no wrong.
