Spotlight – the GazettE

Aoi, Reita, Ruki, Uruha, and Kai are 'the GazettE', a talented Japanese visual kei/rock band making music that can move the hearts of many without the understanding of their lyrics. the GazettE has been in the entertainment industry since 2002; they have released 19 singles, 4 studio albums, and 6 EPs.

Their musical style varies from heavy metal, funk rock, hard rock, metal core, to rock ballads. Currently signed to Sony Music Japan, and managed under the popular PS Company, the GazettE have become one of the most influential bands on the Jrock scene. Their music is widely known throughout Europe, North America, and Asia.

All their songs are written by the vocalist Ruki, with musical productions from the other members and himself. Some of my favorite songs from this talented band include: “Miseinen“, “Reila“, “Cassis“, “Guren“, “Chizuru“, “D.L.N(Dark Long Night)”, “Calm Envy“, “The Invisible Wall“, “Nakigahara“, “Saraba“, and “Naraku“. My favorite album so far would have to be “DIM“, which was released in 2009.

the GazettE’s latest single “PLEDGE“, which is an absolutely amazing rock ballad, will be officially released on December 15. The band will also be performing the final of their “TOUR 10 NAMELESS LIBERTY SIX BULLETS” at the Tokyo Dome on December 26, 2010.

Check out the music video for “The Invisible Wall” below; be sure to support the GazettE and purchase their music on or wherever you can find it, because their music is truly worth listening to.
