Meet Jena Lee, a French r&b emo/pop singer and songwriter. Sylvia Garcia was born on July 27, 1987 in Chile, and was adopted by French parents as a baby. She acquired a passion for music at the young age of four. Sylvia decided on Jena Lee as her stage name, and recorded her songs on a tape recorder.
Sulee B Wax was interested in Jena's music, and decided to meet up with her in 2007. Sulee asked Jena to write instrumentals for the fourth season of Popstars; in return, she wrote six of the thirteen songs that were included on Sheryfa Luna's album. Following her amazing work on Sheryfa's album, she received requests from other artists and musical theatres.
Jena won the Urban Music Nation contest in 2008, and her first single “J’aimerais tellement” (“I Would Love“) was released in April 2009. “J’aimerais tellement” topped the French singles chart for a total of eleven weeks, and had the highest number of downloads by November 2009. Her debut album titled “Vous Remercier (“Thank You“), was released on November 2, 2009 on the Mercury Records label. Her sophomore album “Ma reference” was released on November 8, 2010, and features the hot track “Eternise-Moi” featuring Emo band Esk-Emo.
Jena Lee describes her sound as “having mixed the artists whom she loves, by mixing the side saturated guitar, melody guitar of the emo with happy urban, synth, piano”. Her music is definitely amazing; the music videos are very creative, and her vocals are smooth and sultry. I advise you to check out this talented singer and support her music.
