Spotlight – Sons of Sylvia

Meet Sons of Sylvia, an American country pop/rock band from Virginia. The band is formed by three brothers: Adam (guitar, mandolin), Ashley (lead vocals, guitar), and Austin Clark (backing vocals, guitar). Sons of Sylvia are cousins to OneRepublic‘s lead vocalist Ryan Tedder.

All three, along with their other brothers, formed a band called “The Clark Family Experience” Β back in the 1990s, and recorded an album in 2002. In 2007, Adam, Ashley and Austin won the top prize in the talent competition “The Next Great American Band“, after “The Clark Family Experience” disbanded in late 2002.

The competition earned them a record deal with Universal South Records, and they changed their name to Sons of Sylvia in October 2009. The group appeared on Carrie Underwood’s “What Can I Say?“, which was included on her third album ‘Play On‘. The trio signed a record deal with Interscope, after Universal South and Show Dog Nashville merged, and released their debut album on April 27, 2010.

Ryan Tedder co-wrote and produced the group’s first single “Love Left to Lose“, which they had performed on American Idol on April 28. They were introduced by Carrie Underwood on the show, and are currently touring with her on the ‘Play On‘ tour 2010.

These brothers are super talented, and their music is awesome. Check out the music video for their latest single “I’ll Know You” below; be sure to support and purchase their debut album ‘Revelation‘:
