I don’t know what’s going on with the following list of artists, but their latest albums are just not as explosive in terms of concept, both music and lyrics. These ten albums, in my opinion just lack raw passion. I’ve listened to them all and have found just a few songs or none at all that could save the album. Check out the list below to see who I’m talking about:
10-9: Ne-Yo I couldn’t find one track that grabbed my attention. I barely even made it through any. The same goes for Kanye.
8-7: Keri Hilson what happened? “Pretty Girl Rock” is the only song I liked. The rest of the album was a waste of my hearing. Rihanna, “Love The Way You Lie (part 2)” is the best, but the rest of the album is just, well “Loud.”
6-5: Ciara is not doing so well. This is her second failed release in a row. I’ve got the feeling that she will be let go from her label soon…so sad. The only songs I liked on her “Basic Instinct” record are “Ride” ft. Ludacris and “Gimmie Dat.” Jamie Foxx returned but the new album just sounds like he didn’t put much effort in it. I only liked ‘”Fall For Your Type” and “Winner” ft. T.I. and Justin Timberlake.
4-3: I don’t even get the hype surrounding Ke$ha. I thought I would at least find five tracks to grab me but I only liked three on “Cannibal“: “Sleazy,” “The Harold Song” and “Crazy Beautiful Life.” I anticipated My Chemical Romance‘s return to music, but I was a little disappointed. Fortunately, I found four songs on “Danger Days“: “Bulletproof Heart,” “Sing” and “The Only Hope for Me Is You.”
2-1: Jeremih‘s sophomore album “All About Me” is like a record you would play once and forget. However three tracks had me at hello, “Take Off,” “Holding On,” and “Love Don’t Change.” Keyshia Cole lost me with “Calling All Hearts.” I don’t know how but I managed to find four tracks I kinda liked: “Tired of Doing Me,” “Sometimes,” “Take Me Away” and “Better Me.” Of the bunch, these two albums were actually the best in my opinion.
What do you guys think?
I think because of the way the music industry is now, a lot of new albums will disappoint people.
I haven’t had a chance to listen to any of these albums yet, but I do intend to listen to Cannibal in the near future. I really never got the hype surrounding her either, I’ve only liked two songs from her in total (Take It Off and Boy Like You) so I’m interested in seeing whether I can like any new songs on this EP or not! That;s too bad about Ne-Yo, though. While I’m not a huge fan, I think he does have some good songs and it’s too bad that his newest release is disappointing.
