Joshua Bennett-The Spoken Word Artist

He is a young man in his twenties pursuing his love of the English language in a more crisp and sophisticated manner, than your average user. Meet Joshua Bennett a spoken word artist straight out of New York, with a zeal for painting pictures with words. Click on for more on him.

1.) What is your one-line positive thinking mantra?

God’s grace is sufficient.

2.) Describe your personality?

I’m like a freight train filled with chrysanthemums. On a sunny day.

3.) What practices have you adopted that have led to a healthier lifestyle?

Eating fruit and vegetables every day. Devotional in the morning. Lots of water.

4.) The world is going green, have you embraced the trend?

In my home, we recycle. I also do my best not to pollute. Can’t lie though, I’ve still got a ways to go.

5.) Provide us with a few tips and tricks for holistic living?

Love everyone you meet as hard as you can. Never make decisions based on fear. Be careful what you let get into your spirit, what you listen to and read affects you tremendously, whether you’re conscious of it or not.

6.) Describe your fashion style?

Prep-school beat poet on his way to Sunday School in the 1960’s. Bow ties, cardigans, wool/tweed blazers. Far as footwear, its either loafers or boots. Wallabees are a personal favorite.

7.) How do you unwind after a long week?

Movie, apple juice, bananas, Corn Pops, bed!

8.) What empowers you?

God’s love, mercy and grace.

9.) What is your favorite cuisine?

BBQ Ribs. Throw in some macaroni and cheese, yams, collard greens, steamed vegtables, and rice&peas. Apple pie to close it out. Yeeeeah.

10.) How do you creatively express yourself?

Short poems about my day. I also enjoy talking with my besties. Shout out to the homies.
