With all the madness in the past few days surrounding Kim K’s divorce and all the rumors about her marriage being staged for television brought about some deep thinking on my part, especially after hearing her statement on “not wanting to disappoint people.” How many of us go through life not wanting to disappoint others so we disregard our own feelings in the midst? I can attest to the fact that I have placed my feelings on hold in order to please others, but that is definitely not good. It comes down to trusting yourself and doing what you feel deep within your heart is best for you. It’s not that you’re not considering others, but when it comes to making lifetime commitments, like marriage for example, you have to do what you think is right. If your gut is telling you there’s something wrong then believe it. I don’t know about you, but I do not want to live a life of regret. That’s just horrible.
I’m not about to comment on how genuine their relationship was because I’m in position to do so, but I will say that it’s sad that the marriage lasted only 72 days. That kinda makes you wonder. She gave up so soon, but still, she probably got out right away because she knew it just wasn’t true. Like I said, why spend a lifetime in regret.
Anyways, though I’m wishing both Kim and Kris all the best, marriage is not a game. It’s best to think long and hard before heading to that next step in any relationship. Don’t let because you’re trying to please others who want you to tie the knot hinder your ability in making the right decision. That’s just my opinion.
What do you think?
