Live Before You Die!

Travel a little, or a lot. Just get up and go. I suggest you start living today because you never know what tomorrow brings. With that said, let’s get into my next planned place to visit, Lebanon.

I’ve been listening to Lebanese music over the weekend to re-energize my spirit so to speak, and let me just say that I’ve fallen in love with their hypnotic beats.  This sudden fascination has led me into researching about the country and thus, putting it on spotlight here.

For starters, Lebanon is a country in the East Mediterrean (thank you Wikipedia). It’s bordered by Syria to the north, and Israel to the south. Lebanon’s location at the crossroads of the Mediterranean Basin and the Arabian hinterland has dictated its rich history, and shaped a cultural identity of religious and ethnic diversity. The culture is indeed exotic and appealing; people are particularly drawn to the belly dancing and mouthwatering food.

Aside from such wonderful things, the music is banging. I know, I stress on that a lot but can you blame me. You’ll feel as if you’re dancing in the desert once you put on one of these songs. Whether it’s debke, habibi, or a uptempo dance inspired track, you’re bound to get enchanted.

I could go on and on about all that, but what of the other attractions? In 2009, the New York Times ranked Beirut the No. 1 travel destination worldwide due to its Unique Nightlife and Hospitality (again, thank you Wikipedia).

There are plenty of things to do and places to check out in Lebanon. For example, The Beirut National Museum is perfect if you’re into learning about the country’s history, and of course there’s downtown Beirut if you’re hoping to enjoy the nightlife of the energetic Lebanese people.

And I don’t know about you, but when I travel I’m also looking forward to checking out the beaches. Trust me, it looks as if Lebanon has and much more.

So, what say you? Are you going to make this year be the year of fun travels? I definitely want it to be. Add Lebanon to your travel plans and take advantage of all the magnificent attractions this country offers.

  1. Lovely pics, especially that belly dancer. She’s quite flexible. I like the song and video, they have good beats.
