Do I need a home base? Yes, definitely. But do I want to travel from place to place? Yes, definitely. What I’m trying to say–in my oh so usual complicated way–is that I love traveling and want so badly to experience different cultures around the globe, but I also want that stability and comfort of a home that I can come back to.
I’m capital C in cheap, so I doubt I’ll move around too much, as in actually living somewhere for several months then moving to another place. If it involves booking a hotel or (safe) hostel for the weekend or a week, then that’s more like it. There’s just too much I’d be considering: money, money, money. It does make the world go round and sadly, it’s the one thing holding me back from actually traveling.
So, in response to the daily prompt, even if I had the opportunity to live a nomadic life, I couldn’t spend more than a week in a new place that wasn’t my home. I have one that makes everywhere else seem temporary because it offers me something nowhere else can and ever will: peace, love, and family.
