While the words to the song somewhat plays to a breakup, it also signifies a girl moving on from the hurt and suffering brought on by society. Former Kpopstar contestant Lee Michelle gave many something to think about with her dramatic debut, Without You. I hadn’t been paying much attention to kpop of late because every release just seemed too recycled to me and I was looking for something different, which I wasn’t getting until now. I’m a little late on the realization that Michelle is finally releasing her music after a series of issues with YG entertainment among other things. First of all, why did YG even let this talented lady go? That’s shitty and utterly stupid on their part when that label does nothing but borrow from hip hop and the urban music scene. Anyhoo, this is not a rant. It is Sunday and I wanted to share a viral that not only reflects a little girl going through bullying and trying to tarnish her beauty to conform to what society thinks, but it also displays a young woman who has overcome that and fights on to empower herself. Check it out and tell me what you think:
