Music Review: Bridgit Mendler “Hello My Name Is…”

Hello My Name Is...

Released: October 22, 2012

Label: Hollywood Records

Purchase: Amazon | iTunes

I glimpsed Bridgit Mendler on Amazon’s new releases list and couldn’t help but wonder where I’ve seen this girl before. Truthfully, nowhere, because I haven’t watched any of her movies or television shows. In my defense, she just has one of those faces. But to fans of the newly debut pop singer, she starred in the popular Wizards of Waverly Place and now Good Luck Charlie. Fortunately, this is a review on her debut album and not on her acting career because I have never watched either.

Ready or Not is in fact a sweet package. A not so bubblegum pop record with fresh and catchy beats. Bridgit’s efforts can be heard throughout the album, making her debut an acceptable one.  Continue reading “Music Review: Bridgit Mendler “Hello My Name Is…””

[Exclusive] Alison Sudol on her musical ‘Frenzy’ & life of ‘Pines’

If you’re rubbing your head vigorously to the name Alison Sudol then perhaps A Fine Frenzy will sound more familiar. That is in fact the stage name for the California native singer and songwriter. It’s been nearly three years since the literature inspired and eccentric vocalist released an album, but with Pines I believe the anticipation has been eased. Described as an artist who’s always … Continue reading [Exclusive] Alison Sudol on her musical ‘Frenzy’ & life of ‘Pines’

Christina Perri enchants us in “A Thousand Years”

The lady Perri became widely known, at least to me, as a woman singing about getting over a bad romance and telling off her ex in her empowering yet depressing single “Jar of Hearts,” so It’s always a pleasure to hear her singing songs about the sweetness of love. Christina’s latest release, “A Thousand Years,” has me in awe. I absolutely love the song and … Continue reading Christina Perri enchants us in “A Thousand Years”

[Review] Kina Grannis’ “In Your Arms”

Kina Grannis is a talented singer, songwriter and guitarist. After winning the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest with her YouTube video “Message From Your Heart,” Kina landed a recording contract with Interscope Records. Since then, her career took off; touring the continents and captivating audiences worldwide. What I personally like about Grannis is her determination. The singer recorded and self-released three albums, and that takes a lot. It shows how hard-working and passionate she is. Her latest release, “In Your Arms,” is only another representation of her artistry. And after listening to the song and watching the music video, one can only agree that without a single doubt Kina Grannis is remarkably skillful.  Continue reading “[Review] Kina Grannis’ “In Your Arms””

Breanne Düren shares ’10’

Breanne Düren is the kind of artist I have a ton of respect for. One that not only sings but writes her music as well. There’s a certain value added to a song when it’s genuine and being that she pours herself into her work then I think that’s what makes her very distinctive in the industry. After granting us an exclusive interview, the songbird also took some time to complete our tradition ’10 quickies.’ So, what are you waiting for? go ahead and check out her cool answers below: Continue reading “Breanne Düren shares ’10’”
