For Thought: When Is It Ever Okay To Use The ‘N’ Word?

Never. Why are we still using that word to begin with? I don’t care who you are, black, white, red or purple, can we just stop throwing the ‘ni**as’ word around already. Geez!  I’m not ranting, just addressing an issue that’s been a long time coming, upon glimpsing news about Gwyneth Paltrow calling her friends, Beyonce & Jay-Z, the same controversial word. I guess Mrs. … Continue reading For Thought: When Is It Ever Okay To Use The ‘N’ Word?

Bus Chronicles: Facebook will get you killed + Cottamn hot

Facebook will get you killed

How and why you ask? Well, if your relationship status is updated for the whole world(read-your friends, family and FOES ) to see in the eventuality it fizzles out, proper measures have to be taken and protocol followed, or risk the wrath of a woman scorned.

Spotted! Did Narsha copy Bey’s style?

In Brown Eyed Girls‘ latest music video “Sixth Sense“, vocalist Narsha is seen wearing an outfit and hair style awfully similar to what Beyonce donned for her “4” album cover. The strikingly uglyyy fur thingy was designed by Frenchman Alexandre Vauthier, the name doesn’t ring a bell because he’s an up-and-comer rather than a veteran in the industry.  What’s also ironic is how Continue reading “Spotted! “House of Deréon” lacks growth

Beyoncé may have shown depth and maturity in her latest musical release, but her clothing line has yet to reflect that. Over the years, I’ve noticed that ‘House of Deréon’s” designs have never really grown up; the outfits continue to display glittery artwork (that always comes off) or unsophisticated styling. Regardless of the family connections, as a celebrity I wouldn’t want my name affiliated with the kind of designs this line has to offer. I mean, the club look is really getting played out. Are they only inspired by the party scene? Where’s the edgy and glamorous? Certainly not in the brand. Recently I glimpsed the runway show during London’s Fashion Week and I must admit I liked “some” of the designs depicted in the Knowles’ spring 2012 collection. However, there wasn’t anything AWE-mazing, and will those same tasteful designs ever be featured in the stores? I have my doubts. Continue reading ““House of Deréon” lacks growth”

BC Jean’s ’10 Quickies’

One might say that it’s only natural for an individual born into a musical family to one day pursue music as well. And without surprise BC Jean did just that. This multitalented singer-songwriter has garnered plenty of interest in the industry after penning Beyoncé’s number one hit single “If I Were a Boy”, but now Jean is ready to show the world that she’s more than just a songwriter. Her powerful vocals can shake a stadium and leave an audience begging for more. If you haven’t been keeping up since her debut song “Just a Guy” came out then now is the time to do so ‘cause you are certainly missing out on a real, raw, and honest talent. Check out BC Jean’s ‘10’ quick responses below and read our interview for more. Continue reading “BC Jean’s ’10 Quickies’”

The nominees for the MTV Video Music Awards was recently announced and Katy Perry leads with nine, including Best Female Video and Video of the Year. Coming in second is soul singer Adele and controversial rapper Kanye West with seven nominations each. Some were speculating that Lady Gaga would lead the pack however the theatrical performer is up for only three alongside Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, and Eminem. Katy was interviewed by MTV News regarding her feelings on receiving nine nominations: Continue reading “And the nominees are…”

For Thought: What’s all the fuss about?

I’ve been hearing a lot regarding Beyonce’s decision to fire her manager, who happens to be her father Mathew Knowles. After the news came out about daddy Knowles’ getting fired, I thought it would end there but apparently some people just couldn’t leave it alone. Recently speculations began to spread surrounding the “real” reason why he was let go. Many are claiming that Mr. Knowles was ripping off his superstar daughter, and now he’s filing a lawsuit against Beyonce’s new management (which happens to be her husband’s own Roc Nation) citing that they convinced his daughter to fire him on the basis of false accusations.  Continue reading “For Thought: What’s all the fuss about?”

Beyoncé’s “Best Thing I Never Had” MV

Bey gets subtle for her latest music video, depicting a more romantic side of herself. For “Best Thing I Never Had“, the singer went for the wedding concept, while singing to her ex that let her get away. I really like the song and I like the video as well but hopefully she’ll release “Countdown” next. Anyways, check out the video and tell us what … Continue reading Beyoncé’s “Best Thing I Never Had” MV

[Review] Beyoncé’s “4”

Beyoncé is a true global icon. She is considerably one of the hardest working female entertainers ever, and with all that she’s achieved over the years do you dare deny that fact? Her latest album “4” showcases a mature Beyoncé with more aggressive and powerful vocals that seem to have intensified since her previous “I Am…Sasha Fierce”. The fourth album presents soft, sensual and emotional ballads along with dance jams fans love hearing from the artist. There’s a strong concept that’s quickly unraveled while each track plays: Beyoncé moves from flirty, vulnerable, glamorous, to love and appreciation. Nothing satisfies me more than listening to an album that sounds like plenty of effort went into it. And “4” is just flawless. Continue reading “[Review] Beyoncé’s “4””

“The best thing Beyonce’s never had”

You can hear a mixture of rock and urban pop elements in this song and I really rather listen to this track than “1+1“. Anyways, listen to the song below and tell us what you think. Beyonce “Runs” the Billboard Music Awards

Beyonce was presented with the Millennium Artist award at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday May 22nd, and the artist displayed a killer performance of her latest “Run The World (Girls)“. The global entertainer said that being presented with such an award by music greats she admires and by her family was “the best moment of her life”, and i’m sure I speak for all her loyal fans when I say that we’re truly proud of her and can attest to the fact that this woman is absolutely hardworking. She deserves that honor and i’m sure there’s much more to come. Relive the performance by watching the video below:
