Would you date your friend’s ex?

There’s always a line you shouldn’t cross when it comes to your friend’s love interest, you know, the “do not flirt with my boyfriend/girl”. So does the line still exist even after they’ve broken up? In my opinion, it does. Why would you enter a relationship with someone who dated your friend? not only will it be awkward for him/her when they go around your friends, but it also causes conflict between you and the friend whose former love you’re now with.

Let’s keep it on the low!

I just can’t understand why some people feel the need to put their business all out there, no one needs to see your PDA (public display of affection). It is somewhat like placing a jinx on your relationship by revealing too much to the public as well, cause then everybody starts talking about it, and later on you might end the relationship.  Continue reading “Let’s keep it on the low!”

Assumptions are okay…and this is why

‘Where do you work?’ ‘What do you do exactly?’ These are pretty basic questions right? Well, they are to me especially if they are asked because of interest borne out of attraction. For the past three months or so I’ve asked this  question and marinated in a blank stare from this fine species of heaven.

Two Loves are Better than One?

For some, a committed, exclusive relationship is exactly what they’re looking for. The feelings of having one person to come home too, to care for, to love, brings comfort in providing exactly what they need. However, for others getting to know multiple people in more ways than one, is better than any love they could ever find. No one to answer to, no rules to follow, just relaxation in knowing that every decision is theirs to make.

Like everything though, there is the pros and cons. Continue reading “Two Loves are Better than One?”

Is Your Boyfriend in a Bromance?

There’s only one thing worse than having to fight off girls aiming to steal your man,  and that’s having to fight off their best friends with that same goal. Girls understand that when a boyfriend enters the picture it is inevitable that the friendship is going to change, but boys, and I use boys for a reason, seem to cling to their friends for dear life Continue reading “Is Your Boyfriend in a Bromance?”

The Clinger and You.

When you first enter a relationship, it’s easy to fall into the spell-bounding, heart-racing passion that over-takes your body every moment you’re with the object of your affection. Often the intensity of the relationship can be life-consuming, in a short few weeks leaving you with barely an acquaintance who’s been in your bed for the last week and a lot of confusion as to how you both got there.

When engaging in a relationship for the first time with anyone, it’s always best to approach with caution. Continue reading “The Clinger and You.”

Possessiveness leads to Abuse?

There are usually signs attributed to abuse, but is possessiveness one of those signs? A relationship can become suffocating when one wants to control the other in every way possible: where you go, what you do, who you talk to, etc. We should understand that nothing in this world belongs to us, and each individual has a right to their own freedom.

Possessiveness often time leads to jealousy, a contributor to abuse. Jealousy within an immature person who wants to control the one he/she is dating can lead to anger issues: yelling, physical outbursts, Continue reading “Possessiveness leads to Abuse?”

“How do I make a long distance relationship work?”

Being in a long distance relationship is definitely hard and require a lot of work, but it doesn’t mean giving up on the one you love because you can’t handle the distance. If you truly love and care for the person, then a lot of effort should be made to keep the relationship strong while apart.

Spice Increase!

Making a relationship last takes a lot of work, and sometimes a little added spice to keep the flame burning high. Doing the same things daily can lead to boredom, and often leaves couples wondering in different (new) directions. Of course it’s not all about sex, but that is an important part of the communication between the two, and sometimes needs a little improvement to keep it fresh and spontaneous.

Spicing up a relationship doesn’t necessarily mean trying new food, however there are some natural aphrodisiacs that can up the level in the relationship. For example,  serotonin and phenethylamine are two power stimulants inside chocolate. Both these stimulants are called the “happiness harmone”, because they are contributors to feelings of well-being (emotional/physical satisfaction).

Giving The GF All Access: Good/Bad Idea?

I’ve been looking at this topic from both a male/female perspective. Of course I leaned more towards the female perspective, being that I am a female. However, I’m not so sure about the girlfriend having all access to her boyfriend’s stuff (in particular, his passwords, his phone, his bank account, etc.) I mean, I wouldn’t want my boyfriend having that much access to those things.

I know you guys are probably thinking by now, what about trust? However, people can sometimes abuse this access for their own advantage. For example, logging into your boyfriend’s e-mail account to check his inbox, or searching his phone to see who he’s calling. Or even using his card at the ATM to take money from his account without his permission (not only is that wrong, it’s a felony).

Don’t Rely On Internet Dating

Internet dating should be considered as ‘Plan B’, something you turn to when you’re not meeting enough people in real life. It has proven to be successful, but people should not rely too much on internet dating to meet potential people.

Relying too much on this form of dating, is like having an obsession with the social network facebook; by spending too much time on the internet, your social  life in reality basically deteriorates. For example, you meet a nice guy/girl online, and you talk quite frequently about any and everything. After some time, you decide to meet up, but what happens sometime is that, after meeting up, people haven nothing to discuss in person. It’s like they’re much better (more comfortable and safe) behind a computer.

The Friend Zone

The ‘Friend Zone‘ is just a sugarcoated term for saying “I’m not interested in having a relationship with you, nor am I attracted to you in any way”. It is often a term used for men who become like “doormats” for their female crush. No one wants to be caught in that category. However, often times people find themselves there due to the fact that they have a crush on someone and is trying to get closer to them, but they just can’t seem to get through.

Most people think that building a friendship first with the person their attracted to will lead to something beyond the friendship, so they start out being caring and nice. Fact, being a supportive friend can often get you nowhere, especially if you’re just a shoulder to cry on. What’s worse about this situation is that most of them time these crushes know about your feelings but doesn’t acknowledge them.

Bedroom Buddy

A ‘bedroom buddy’ is someone you meet up with for the sole purpose of having sex with them. There are no strings attached; no emotions, or any sentimental stuff, just pure pleasure. In other words, a ‘sex buddy’.

In my opinion, having a bedroom buddy is something most men tend to lean towards. Women on the other hand can make it complicated and bring emotions into such a situation, and it usually doesn’t end well. I wonder, does having a bedroom buddy mean protecting yourself from getting hurt, by locking your feelings away and disallowing yourself from falling in love?

Does It Matter Who Says ‘I Love You’ First?

It’s a fact that when you are in a relationship, it’s important to express your feelings in every way you can. Showing someone you care about them requires more than just the action, it’s also in the words, so does it matter who says ‘I love you’ first?

There have been cases where women say the three words, but have received no ‘I love you’ back in return. What does that mean? He doesn’t feel the same? It’s too soon? or did the girl scare him a little?

I Am Not A Puppy!

Ladies, don’t you just hate it when men come up to you and are like “hey cutie! how you doing?” First of all, when I hear the word cute, it reminds me of a little puppy, and I ain’t no puppy. Why is it so hard for them to say “hello beautiful”, or a simple hello will do without adding the word “cute” to it.

Women work hard in maintaining their appearances; looking sexy and confident for ourselves, and to attract you guys. But instead of using more charming words, they use the unflattering one as if they’re making reference to a teddy bear or baby.

‘In the case of baby Fiona, David ‘You are NOT the father’.  David’s ex-girlfriend Liliana dramatically gets up from her chair, holds her chest as if about to go into panic attack mode. Howls so damn loud as if she is in labor goes near the screen and points at the nose of baby Fiona, runs to David and touches his in shock and disbelief saying, ‘Look at their nose’s, their nostrils are the same size, big enough to fit a penny inside.’

Shacking Up Before He Puts A Ring On It.

Kai and I were discussing the issue of shacking up before getting married.  We tackled this issue from different perspectives, and weighed our answers based on the analysis of shacking options.

Shacking up before getting married gives you the opportunity to know the person before committing to life imprisonment. Ever heard the saying, ‘You don’t know a person until you live with them’.  When you are in a shackless relationship, you are pretty much oblivious to the others daily routine.  But, in a shacked up situation you become aware of what the other does at a more acute level. The little things that you found ‘cute’ no longer seem the same. They slowly start to become annoying with a capital ‘A’.

Is Sex The Most Important Thing In Relationships?

Is sex really important in relationships, as in to make the relationship last? The truth is, it is an important aspect, but if it becomes the most important thing then the relationship won’t go too far. There are other things to building a lasting relationship and sex cannot be the only foundation.

The most important thing to build a relationship on is love and communication. Love is not the same as sex and will never be the same; ‘Making love’ with someone is not the same as having ‘sex’. If it’s just about sex then it becomes a physical thing with no meaning.

‘Tis The Season To Be…Lonely?

When the Christmas season comes around, many are feeling super jolly; spending time with their loved ones, having family gatherings, etc. Unlike those happy go lucky people, there are some (like muah) who feel lonely around this time of the year, especially when you have no one to cuddle with to keep warm in the cold winter.

You’re probably thinking, how can you be lonely when you’re with family, but sometimes people are looking for love, comfort, and joy, especially around that time; chances are you’ll feel jealous when you see other couples getting all lovey dovey and you have no one to do that with.

The Bus Again!!!

I was on the bus AGAIN! I use public transportation as my mode of transport. It’s great, efficient and what’s more FREE!  I had a basket of errands to run, an appointment to make, and woke up late.

This blogging job ain’t for sissies! We usually sleep at 5.a.m. in the morning. Let me save that for another day. So miss thang, in a hurry to make it happen today forgot about her appearance. Tank and jeans it was, hair combed in a muffled afro out the door I was! You get the picture.
