At the Movies: “Maleficent”

Quite the contrary to her name, Maleficent was actually a peacekeeper in her flourishing and magical kingdom until the ultimate betrayal turned her bitter. You could even say she’s a woman scorned. Anyhoo, I was a tad hesitant of watching this movie because it’s a play on the popular fairytale, Sleeping Beauty, and I’m not really one for retellings of any kind. Still, I’m happy … Continue reading At the Movies: “Maleficent”

Music Review: Bridgit Mendler “Hello My Name Is…”

Hello My Name Is...

Released: October 22, 2012

Label: Hollywood Records

Purchase: Amazon | iTunes

I glimpsed Bridgit Mendler on Amazon’s new releases list and couldn’t help but wonder where I’ve seen this girl before. Truthfully, nowhere, because I haven’t watched any of her movies or television shows. In my defense, she just has one of those faces. But to fans of the newly debut pop singer, she starred in the popular Wizards of Waverly Place and now Good Luck Charlie. Fortunately, this is a review on her debut album and not on her acting career because I have never watched either.

Ready or Not is in fact a sweet package. A not so bubblegum pop record with fresh and catchy beats. Bridgit’s efforts can be heard throughout the album, making her debut an acceptable one.Β  Continue reading “Music Review: Bridgit Mendler “Hello My Name Is…””

Let Demi “Give Your Heart A Break?

I love me some Demi Lovato. Seriously. She’s such a passionate singer and her newest music video is actually for my favorite track on her ‘Unbroken‘ album. “Give Your Heart A Break” is a song about love and taking chances, not about heartbreak like some may think. Anyways, without me going on and on, check out the sweet video and tell us what you think. Continue reading Let Demi “Give Your Heart A Break?

Opening Weekend

Contraband PosterJoyful Noise PosterThe Iron Lady Poster

Don’t we all love Β opening weekends? Well, only if the movies showing are interesting. 2011 was definitely a pathetic year for movies and Hollywood seemed to have suffered a decline. However, 2012 is looking brighter so far. Mark Wahlberg is back on the big screen in his latest action packed thriller “Contraband.” The film depicts a protective brother willing to take huge risks in securing the life of his sister and her husband. There’s certainly some adrenaline to look forward to when it comes to Wahlberg. I’ve been a huge fan since “The Big Hit” and I am not turning back anytime soon. He never disappoints me.Β  Continue reading “Opening Weekend”

[Review] Demi Lovato’s “Unbroken”

Demi Lovato took a break from entertainment to basically mend her heart and work on her personal troubles. Fans are now ecstatic for her return with the new album β€œUnbroken.” In her words, this record was very therapeutic in terms of expressing her true feelings and telling listeners about who she was beyond the artist. It signifies the journey of moving from a sad and unhappy place, to becoming the joyful and β€œhealthy” person she is today. Demi hopes that not only will this new album entertain but also inspire others to break free from their chains and seek out a better life. Aside from its inspiring concept, Demi is considered to be sounding better than ever on this record with her raspy and powerful vocals. The album is described as intense, representing Demi’s growth as an artist. However, will β€œUnbroken” proven to be as impressive and edgy, or even better than her previous β€œHere we go again?” We’ll see after I do a quick run down of the album track by track. And so begins my review. Continue reading “[Review] Demi Lovato’s “Unbroken””

Hilary Duff is normal!

Β

It’s very rare that a child star, and one from Disney I might add, to live a β€œnormal” life after becoming successful. However, Hilary Duff deserves our praises at this moment because not only did she blossom into a mature young woman, she had no drama whatsoever along the way. I mean, who can recall this little lady getting a DUI, forgetting her underwear and having photos of her private splashed about in tabloids, or even getting arrested? She’s just not that kind of celeb. And like many, I always admired that about her. Hilary gives off a sparkling light that exhumes respect, self-confidence, class, humility, and love. Indeed she has come a long way, and the biggest role she’ll take on yet is becoming a mother. That’s right! The 23 year old is expecting her first child with husband Mike Comrie. The couple wed on August 14th, 2010 so this is definitely a wonderful anniversary gift for both. Continue reading “Hilary Duff is normal!”
