Book Review – ‘Nevermore’ by Kelly Creagh

Cheerleader Isobel Lanley is horrified when she’s paired with dark child Varen Nethers for an English project. As disappointed as she is at start, Varen also makes it clear that the feelings of distaste are mutual. Little did Isobel know that aside from working on this project, she would also be pulled into the dreamworld of this mysterious yet intriguing guy. Their feelings are developed as worlds intertwine, but more importantly, Isobel would have to save her new found love from the very thing he himself helped create.

Nevermore‘ portrays a chilling and unlikely romance that you’re bound to get drawn into. It’s all fair in the beginning, describing a girl’s misfortune for getting placed with one of their school’s misfits, but once Edgar Allan Poe became the center piece amongst a series of strange events, I knew the end results would be anything but ‘normal.’It is Poe afterall, and we know his sense of reality isn’t too far from fantasy.

“Insidious”

Long has it been since I’ve sat down and watched a scary movie and actually got spooked. And being that I’ve yet to write a full review on some film of interest, I decided to take on “Insidious“. The James Wan horror is based on a family fighting to protect their child from being consumed by evil and taken into the realms of ‘the further’, all while he’s lying in a coma. Deadly “Rubber”

While checking out some new movie trailers today, I came across a rather interesting and creepy movie called “Rubber“. Rubber is a film directed and written by Quentin Dupieux, and tells the story of an inanimate tire with destructive capabilities, who falls in love with a human girl, but encounters plenty of trouble along the way. As silly as this plot seems, I would definitely go watch it in theaters because the movie is quite different, and enables you to take a break from the usual.

Rubber stars Stephen Spinella and will be released on February 25, 2011. Watch the trailer below:
