It’s nearly impossible to believe that Taylor Upsahl, who goes by simply Upsahl, just tossed her mortarboard in the air as a high school graduate. For someone so young, the Phoenix, AZ native is a remarkably skilled singer, songwriter and performer. It’s no wonder the Phoenix New Times proclaimed that her “songwriting will blow you away” and that her songs “transcend her teenage years, with catchy lyrics and … Continue reading Indie-Pop Singer @UPSAHLmusic Releases New Song ‘Can You Hear Me Now’

Lana Del Rey’s music is a hit or miss for me. While I thoroughly enjoyed her Born to Die album, I didn’t connect much with her last release, Ultraviolence. However, I’m really liking the songs I’ve heard so far from her upcoming album, Honeymoon, including the latest single High By The Beach. There’s something addictive about the track, and Lana’s drowsy singing pulls you in perfectly. … Continue reading Lana Del Rey Gets “High By The Beach”
I’m ashamed to say I’m only now listening to Ingrid Michaelson. My oh my have I been missing out. With her latest album, Lights Out, only a day away from being released, I was happy to receive the opportunity to listen and review her music. Good timing because I’m in the mood for some new music that’s not really mainstream and more original. Let’s see … Continue reading Album Review: “Lights Out” by Ingrid Michaelson
I’ve come across unsettling comments in regards to Wild Belle‘s music video for Keep You, which depicts a little boy having a relationship with grown women. I mean, I get it but then there are some very disturbed and even classified the video as encouraging pedophilia. Here’s my take on the viral: there’s a young boy because the man is obviously behaving like a child. The message is clear. He needs to grow up and stop acting so childish. Anyways, I like the song and the video for its location. Check it out if you haven’t yet and tell us what you think about the concept. Continue reading “Wild Belle’s “Keep You””

Ellie Goulding is like a sweet breath of fresh air to music since her debut. The talented European has undeniably shaken the industry with her enchanting and unique voice, soothing and thought provoking songs, and of course that distinctive beauty. The bundle necessary to make a statement and consider it brought. I had high expectations for Goulding’s sophomore album and I was indeed impressed. Halcyon took me by surprise and completely shitted on my brain. I’m left in this state of dependency; I need to hear this album over and over to feed my addiction. What can I say? Ellie is in fact a ‘Goulding’ girl and I’m expecting just results from the charts. Continue reading “Music Review: Ellie Goulding’s “Halcyon””

At least with their ahhmazing cover. ‘Paradise‘ is one of my favorite Coldplay songs so its only fair that I post this brilliant cover performed by The Autumn Film. The trio does a really good job in maintaining that spark I like so much in Coldplay’s version, and Tifah’s voice is so melting. Anyways, don’t let me creep you out with my praises. Have a … Continue reading The Autumn Film takes us to ‘Paradise’

Kina Grannis is a talented singer, songwriter and guitarist. After winning the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest with her YouTube video “Message From Your Heart,” Kina landed a recording contract with Interscope Records. Since then, her career took off; touring the continents and captivating audiences worldwide. What I personally like about Grannis is her determination. The singer recorded and self-released three albums, and that takes a lot. It shows how hard-working and passionate she is. Her latest release, “In Your Arms,” is only another representation of her artistry. And after listening to the song and watching the music video, one can only agree that without a single doubt Kina Grannis is remarkably skillful. Breanne Düren is the kind of artist I have a ton of respect for. One that not only sings but writes her music as well. There’s a certain value added to a song when it’s genuine and being that she pours herself into her work then I think that’s what makes her very distinctive in the industry. After granting us an exclusive interview, the songbird also took some time to complete our tradition ’10 quickies.’ So, what are you waiting for? go ahead and check out her cool answers below: Continue reading “Breanne Düren shares ’10’”
I know you like to take it slow, while everyone else is on the go but you’re just not the rushing kind, if it eases your mind.
Sometime last week, while going through our youtube mail, I came across a subscription request that had me at delete because of the name, olddogg2. Before my cursor and the x become one with each other, the dogg part of the name piqued my interest and I decided to see who this weirdo was.
It turned out to be the page of Michael Turner a singer/songwriter. I instantly fell in love with his It will ease your mind song and the rest as they say is history. Sit back and acquaint yourself with music that will transport you to an era past.

Nikki Lane is a country recording artist who’s seemingly influenced by anything retro; need proof, listen to her music, check out her fashion style and watch her music videos. Lane’s voice is as sweet as honey. Her sound is country, but with an edge. It’s definitely incapable of being placed inside a box. Nikki’s latest album, “Walk of Shame“, includes everything but an overwhelming about of breakup songs. It delivers variety and depth, and more issues we can all relate to. One word I use to describe this artist and her music is, rarity. There’s something particularly unique about her and that will truly take her global and beyond.
“Walk of Shame” will be available on September 27. In the mean time, check out Nikki’s vintage looking music video for “Gone, Gone, Gone” below, and read the interview to learn more about this inspiring singer: Continue reading “[Exclusive] Interview with Nikki Lane: “Retro Inspired Country Star””
Christina Perri has kept us tuned in since releasing the emotional “Jar of Hearts“. Her voice is one of a kind; a singer that draws you into her music and leaves you breathless. Whenever I listen to her songs I don’t know whether to cry from all the passion that immediately resonates my body, or smile from the harmony that entertains me. Christina is a talented performer and I’m happy she’s graced the music industry with her skills. Her debut album “lovestrong.” provides the soundtrack of a woman who has experienced love and heartache. It’s one of those records you can sit back and enjoy while being captivated by the sound of her heartfelt melodies. And now at this moment I ask you to bear with me as I try my very best in providing you with this review as to why “lovestrong.” is truly amazing.
I don’t know if I should feel depressed or happy after watching Christina Perri‘s latest music video for “Arms“. I mean the song is about love, but it still has a sad feel to it and I think it’s because she still has me trapped in her “Jar of Hearts“. From the first single I picked up the concept of sadness in her music so it’s like I’m expecting that trend in whatever else she releases. And her grey themed music videos is not helping. However, I do like the song and “Arms” is in fact about being in love and completed by your beloved. She’s a passionate singer and I suggest you purchase her debut album “lovestrong.” Watch the video below and tell us what you think. Continue reading “Christina Perri puts her “Arms” around us”
