Mini Album Review: ‘Who Are You?’ by Kahi

I’m actually a devoted fan to the lovely and talented entertainer, constantly finding out what she’s up to via her twitter page. When I saw that Kahi was travelling quite a bit I figured more or less she was seeking inspiration—amidst relaxation—for her upcoming music.  More recently, she took a trip to Barcelona, Spain, which apparently hadn’t only been the setting for her latest music … Continue reading Mini Album Review: ‘Who Are You?’ by Kahi

AFTER SCHOOL’S BACK!!

I had to say that because I’ve been waiting, and I am somewhat satisfied. Not entirely in love with the mini album but I’m sold by the overall concept. I listened to the EP at least two times before writing the review so I can safely explain my impression of each track. From start to the finish, every single song had something of interest. With the exception of the intro, 8 Hot Girls, which I think should’ve been longer instead of only a minute and couple seconds, my reaction has pretty much swayed from sensual, classy, fun and upbeat, to warm and misty. I’ll break it down so you know which song rubs me in what way. But before that, let’s get into 8 Hot Girls. Continue reading “Album Review: ‘First Love’ by After School”

After School Teases…with Pole Art?

So, my love for this South korean girl group goes way back to their days of ‘Ah’. With or without Kahi (obviously without) I continue to show my support for After School because I see something in this group I can’t pinpoint in others, unlimited creativity. After School constantly breaks the mold; giving a fresh style with every release. I mean, look at their latest, … Continue reading After School Teases…with Pole Art?

FYE: After School “Rambling Girls”

I’ve been listening to After School’s Japanese single “Rambling Girls” a lot these days and I figured I’d share the video with you. This hip and vivacious music video complements the hypnotic sounds of the track. Check out the fierce and sexy choreography AS is well known for. Kahi will indeed be missed. Did You Hear?

Kahi will be “graduating” from her badass Kpop group After School. According to Pledis Entertainment, her label and management, as well as a ton of news outlet in South Korea, Kahi will be leaving the group to work on her solo career as well as her acting. Now, I don’t want to offend anyone but isn’t the reason why After School was so hot to begin with due to the presence of Kahi. I mean, she puts the fierceness in the group. And no one can pull dance moves off like she does. It’s definitely going to be hard to continue following After School now that Kahi’s leaving, but I’m sure true PLAYGIRLZ won’t waver their support. As for Kahi, I’ve always been a fan since her days as a  dancer & choreographer, and will continue to ride with her to the end. After all, she is and will always be ‘The Queen of Dance’. I just love her versatility, don’t you?

Since the group’s formation the company did state that there would be a graduation system in place where members were free to leave as they choose to, but I’ve always considered this as a sugarcoated excuse for firing the members who don’t bank much for them. Well, just as they have the graduation system there’s also the admission part, Continue reading “Did You Hear?”

[Album Review] After School’s “Playgirlz”

After School has always been my favorite kpop girl group. I like their style; not particularly the member system in place, but mainly their musical concepts. And as much as I like them, I never allowed that to overshadow my judgement on any of their releases. If the song sucks, I’ll be honest and admit it just as quick as I am to admit when it sounds pretty hot. After School, more precisely their leader, has tasteful elements in whatever it is they deliver to their target market. Unfortunately, the group hasn’t received greater recognition for their hard work, still they continue to strive for that wish they sought out to achieve. Recently, AS has ventured into the Jpop market in hopes of acquiring a wider range of feedback not yet completely felt in their homeland. So far, I’m not necessarily impressed but I believe they’ll improve because in all honesty, they usually do. Thus the birth of their first Jpop album ‘Playgirlz‘. NU’EST Brings It, A Little

Kpop’s latest arrival is a male group from Pledis Entertainment (home of After School) called NU’EST. Initially, I was under the impression that their name is pronounced ‘newest’, but apparently its pronounced new east. Anyways, whatever it is they call themselves or what you so choose to call them, I like their debut single album ‘FACE‘. And there’s absolutely no bias here. I’m not feeling them simply because I’m a fan of Kahi and After School, I truly like NU’EST and that intro has me hooked. Continue reading “NU’EST Brings It, A Little”

Kahi “school’s” us on getting the perfect bod

After School‘s fierce leader has one of the best bodies in Kpop. Kahi certainly knows how to stay fresh; her gorgeous, sculptured frame takes hard work to maintain, and lord knows everyone, including moi, is dying to know her secret. Well, wait no further. SURE, a women fitness magazine in South Korea, recently featured the multi-talented diva in a stunning pictorial, in which she revealed her workout tips and her respect for Madonna and Beyonce. According to Kahi, doing pilates, yoga, horseback riding, biking, jogging, and other leisure activities does the trick. Staying still for too long is quite frustrating for her, so she has to constantly be moving around, doing something. Check out some of the tasteful pics from the shoot below: Continue reading “Kahi “school’s” us on getting the perfect bod”

After School wants to “Play Ur Love”

Kpop girl group After School has unveiled their latest music video for “Play Ur Love“, a track from their first full length album “Virgin“. The video displays a more softer side of After School and focuses on four members only; it did include a unit version 2 in the title so I’m assuming they’ll release another video with the other members later on. Anyways, I like the video because it’s subtle and sweet, and I like the song for their tender vocals. Check it out below and tell us what you think. Also, make sure to purchase After School’s album here, If you’ve read my review then you’ll have enough proof that it’s good.  Continue reading “After School wants to “Play Ur Love””

[Review] After School’s “Virgin”

afterschool-shampoo

Kpop girl group After School is making a comeback to the industry with their first full length album entitled “Virgin“. AS hasn’t released any new music since “Bang!” in 2010, and only the sub-units and other members have been doing any sort of promotion. You might remember Orange Caramel‘s “Bangkok Cityand Kahi‘s “Come Back You Bad Person“. While both solo projects were interesting and kept fans entertained, it’s good to see the group back as a whole and making great music for us. Check out my full album review below:

KAHI impresses yet again

Wrapping up her weekend of debut stages, Kahi delivered yet another fierce and absolutely perfect performance on a popular music show called Inkigayo. Doing a double set, Kahi performed the mid-tempo r&b track “One Love“, followed by the hot new hit song “Come Back You Bad Person“. Both were quite impressive in their own way. I love how she’s looking vulnerable in her performance for “One Love“, and then transitioned into fierceness for “Come Back“. She’s an amazing dancer and singer. Check out the performances below, and I stress again if you have not purchased her EP please do so now! Continue reading “KAHI impresses yet again”

Kahi’s debut live performances: hot or not?

닫기

Korea’s dance queen KAHI released her solo debut mini album a few days ago, along with the music video for the lead track “Come Back You Bad Person“, and as a result kpop music lovers are in a frenzy over her hot tracks and fierce dancing. She made her debut live performances on top music programs and I was so proud while watching them. I really feel happy for this woman. She’s worked so hard, and “Come Back You Bad Person” is now stuck on repeat. I guess I just had to turn up the volume and inhale the song a bit more to realize it’s truly hot. Anyways, watch the live performances below and make your vote above: Continue reading “Kahi’s debut live performances: hot or not?”

Kahi releases “Come Back, You Bad Person” MV

The full music video is finally unleashed, and Kahi is looking hotter than ever. As I’ve stated before, I’m not feeling the song as a lead track from her first solo effort, however Kahi delivers in the music video for “Come Back You Bad Person“. Watch the video and leave your comments below, and of course support this talented artist by purchasing her mini album … Continue reading Kahi releases “Come Back, You Bad Person” MV

Kahi releases solo mini album

After School‘s fierce leader Park Kahi has finally released her long awaited solo mini album. “Kahi – The First Mini Album” consists of 4 tracks including the lead single “Come Back You Bad Person“, a dance/techno track featuring Kahi’s exhilarating vocals. This song is not bad, but the effects throughout makes me wonder about the stress she went through recording it, as well as the stress she’ll go through when performing the song live. My personal favorites are track number two, “One Love“, a smooth r&b song with an electrifying solo guitar break, and track number four “Roller Coaster“, a dance/pop song that would’ve made a better lead track for promotion. Track number three is a ballad titled “Gift” which features somewhat of vulnerability in Kahi’s voice. She did well, and I wish to congratulate her both for the release of the mini album, and for her patience of waiting and working so hard for all these years to finally make her dream a reality. Purchase the mini album at YesAsia now and support Kahi. She truly deserves it! Listen to the tracks below: Continue reading “Kahi releases solo mini album”

Spotlight – Kahi

Meet Kahi Park, a South Korean singer, dancer, songwriter and leader of Kpop group After School. Kahi is most notable for her fierce dancing and charismatic personality on music shows or performing among the other members of After School.

Kahi was born Ji-Young Park. She developed a passion for dancing as a teenager, and was influenced by hip hop and r&b music. She didn’t receive professional training due to strong objections by her family, but kept on dancing and improving her skills on her own. Kahi moved to Seoul, South Korea’s capital, despite her family’s disagreement to pursue an entertainment career. She landed a job as a back-up dancer while she was 18. After School’s “Someone is You”

I’m completely inlove with After School‘s “Someone is You“, from their “Love Love Love” single album. I have no idea what they’re singing, but all I know is this song is absolutely well composed and filled with beautiful harmonies.

After School is a kpop group that has some really fun dance/pop and r&b songs. The members also participate in variety shows, and star in dramas. They’re very versatile, however pretty underrated in their country. Anyways, After School is a awesome group and I recommend you kpop lovers check them out and purchase their music from yesasia.com

Check out “Someone if You” and also my favorite music video “Bang“:
