Big Sean’s “Marvin & Chardonnay”

Big Sean is certainly getting big. I really liked his first single “My Last” featuring Chris Brown (regardless of my bias for the pop star), and I’m loving his second single “Marvin & Chardonnay.” Sadly, I don’t share the same sentiments for the music video; maybe it’s due to the fact that there’s just too much provocativeness going on. Anyways, watch for yourselves and tell us what you … Continue reading Big Sean’s “Marvin & Chardonnay”

The nominees for the MTV Video Music Awards was recently announced and Katy Perry leads with nine, including Best Female Video and Video of the Year. Coming in second is soul singer Adele and controversial rapper Kanye West with seven nominations each. Some were speculating that Lady Gaga would lead the pack however the theatrical performer is up for only three alongside Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, and Eminem. Katy was interviewed by MTV News regarding her feelings on receiving nine nominations: Continue reading “And the nominees are…”

[Review] Beyoncé’s “4”

Beyoncé is a true global icon. She is considerably one of the hardest working female entertainers ever, and with all that she’s achieved over the years do you dare deny that fact? Her latest album “4” showcases a mature Beyoncé with more aggressive and powerful vocals that seem to have intensified since her previous “I Am…Sasha Fierce”. The fourth album presents soft, sensual and emotional ballads along with dance jams fans love hearing from the artist. There’s a strong concept that’s quickly unraveled while each track plays: Beyoncé moves from flirty, vulnerable, glamorous, to love and appreciation. Nothing satisfies me more than listening to an album that sounds like plenty of effort went into it. And “4” is just flawless. Continue reading “[Review] Beyoncé’s “4””

Katy Perry’s “E.T.” MV

We recently reported about Katy Perry‘s hot new single ‘E.T.’, and how hypnotic it is. Well, the music video has officially been unveiled and Katy along with the Kanye West shows fans just how alienistic they can get for love. I like how the video starts out erie with a classical music resounding in the background, then we get taken into space with a very creepy but artistic looking Katy. The video is very creative, colorful and out-of-this world. I love it. And one more thing, it provides an interesting ending. See for yourselves below: Continue reading “Katy Perry’s “E.T.” MV”

Katy Perry’s “E.T.”, her best song ever?

I don’t know about you, but I’m loving Katy Perry‘s ‘E.T.‘ single. I think it’s the only song I like on her latest album, and my new favorite since ‘Thinking of You’. There’s something about the melody that pulls me in and mesmerizes me. I absolutely love it. I was kind of worried when she said Kanye was gonna be featured on the remix, but I heard his part and it sounded ok, but still a little creepy (but then again it’s Kanye). Either way, Katy rocks on E.T. and I can’t wait to see the music video for this. Check out Kanye’s version below:

Kanye West “All Of The Lights” MV

Kanye has released the music video for his single “All of the Lights“, and I’m actually feeling this song. It’s my second favorite along with “Runaway” from his “Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” album. The music video was directed by Hype Williams and features Kid Cudi, Rihanna, along with a dozen other singers which I have no time to mention. The video somewhat plays on the lyrics to the song, depicting issues faced by families in society. I particularly liked that the song has substance, but what I didn’t appreciate was Rihanna’s outfit in the video (sorry to diss you on your b-day). Why must this chick make everything about sex when it’s not even that kind of song. Anyways, see the video for yourselves and tell us what you think. Top Ten Albums I’m Not Into

No Boys Allowed Loud

I don’t know what’s going on with the following list of artists, but their latest albums are just not as explosive in terms of concept, both music and lyrics. These ten albums, in my opinion just lack raw passion. I’ve listened to them all and have found just a few songs or none at all that could save the album. Check out the list below to see who I’m talking about:
