Remembering Selena…

Selena Quintanilla-Perez is indeed “siempre en nuestros corazones“, which simply translates to “always in our hearts”. Selena is the best selling Latin artist of the Decade for her 14 top ten singles, including 7 number one hits. The moment songs like “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” starts playing, a dance vibe gets you on your feet. And of course we all still get captivated and fall deeply in love with the romantic “Dreaming of You“. The Queen of Tejano Music still resides in our lives for generations to come; though she left us prematurely on March 31, 1995, Selena still remains spiritually in her music and our hearts. While we continue to celebrate her legacy, I want to take this time to remember a true legend. Continue reading “Remembering Selena…”

[Review] Paulina Rubio’s “Brava!”

Well here’s something I’ve haven’t dived into before. Paulina Rubio is one of many Latin artists that I’ve never truly sat down, or got on my feet, and listened to their music. As far as my Spanish interest goes, I stayed glued to Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, and Selena. I think it was over ten years ago where I first glimpsed lady Rubio performing at the Grammy Awards that I became aware of the fact that there were other Latin artists deserving of my attention. Sadly, I didn’t follow her up because I thought she reminded me a little of Shakira’s style, and I felt strongly bonded to latter. But today, Paulina has won me over and I now realize there is a great difference between their sound.

The exotic diva has released her 10th studio album, “Brava!” which is also her second bilingual album since her debut. I haven’t gotten through the entire record as yet simply because I want to save my first impression for this review. However, it’s the lead single and track number one that has me bubbling. Get “On the Floor” with J.Lo & Pitbull

I absolutely love “On The Floor“, and I never thought I’d say that about a euro pop song with so much repition, but J.Lo has me hooked. I also love the fact that RedOne sampled the melody from one of my favorite dance songs from the 90’s (Lambada! If you don’t know it, YouTube it). “On The Floor” features the sexy Pitbull and will be included on Jennifer’s upcoming seventh studio album “Love?”, which will be released in April. “Love?” will be Lopez’ first release with Island Records since parting ways with Sony. I’m a bit late in posting the new video but all the same, I still wanted to cos it is hot, hot, HOT! Check it out below: Continue reading “Get “On the Floor” with J.Lo & Pitbull”

Shakira’s “Sale el Sol”

Listen to Shakira’s latest single and title track of her latest studio album, “Sale el Sol“. The song features Shakira’s signature rock influences and passionate vocals. I love anything Spanish, especially a song with encouraging lyrics like “the sun still comes out after all the hurt”.

If you haven’t purchased “Sale el Sol”, be sure to do so. Shakira’s music is always breathtaking. Listen to the track below and purchase it on iTunes now:

Enrique’s “Loving You Tonight”

Enrique Iglesias‘ latest music video for “Tonight (I’m Loving You)” featuring Ludacris has been released for a few days now, but it’s still quite the hot number; not because the song is catchy, but because Enrique is one sexy hunk. This latino prince has got my eyes peeled on him right throughout the video. I didn’t pay attention to anything else up in there.

If you haven’t see the music video, I wish you would. So let me just stop for now and tell you to check it out for yourself below:

“The Sun Comes Out” for Shakira

Shakira returns to her Spanish roots with her ninth studio album titled “Sale El Sol (The Sun Comes Out)”. The record showcases her amazing creativity in songwriting, and lacks absolutely nothing. “Sale El Sol” includes the hot single “Loca“, and if you haven’t seen the music video yet (though i doubt you haven’t), check it out below:  Continue reading ““The Sun Comes Out” for Shakira”
