Battlefield America has the potential, to fail

Don’t get me wrong, I love dance movies, especially when these films feature people who can actually dance. But what turns me off is their acting. And let’s keep it real, it’s hard to dance and act at the same time. Some may require further lessons, and by that I mean some excessive acting classes. Take Battlefield America for instance. The movie depicts the story of aΒ young businessman who lands a community service sentence, which in turn led him to a group of misfit kids who need mentoring. With the help of a pro instructor, he works to get the kids ready for a big underground dance competition. Not a bad plot, right? Except for the fact that the movie’s directed by Chris Stokes (founder of successful but since failed boy group B2K, music producer, etc.) My point is that just because you’re a successful entrepreneur who made good music videos doesn’t mean you’re a superb film director.
