Assumptions are okay…and this is why

‘Where do you work?’ ‘What do you do exactly?’ These are pretty basic questions right? Well, they are to me especially if they are asked because of interest borne out of attraction. For the past three months or so I’ve asked this  question and marinated in a blank stare from this fine species of heaven.

I Am Not A Puppy!

Ladies, don’t you just hate it when men come up to you and are like “hey cutie! how you doing?” First of all, when I hear the word cute, it reminds me of a little puppy, and I ain’t no puppy. Why is it so hard for them to say “hello beautiful”, or a simple hello will do without adding the word “cute” to it.

Women work hard in maintaining their appearances; looking sexy and confident for ourselves, and to attract you guys. But instead of using more charming words, they use the unflattering one as if they’re making reference to a teddy bear or baby.

THE CASE OF THE OBSESSIVE EX

‘In the case of baby Fiona, David ‘You are NOT the father’.  David’s ex-girlfriend Liliana dramatically gets up from her chair, holds her chest as if about to go into panic attack mode. Howls so damn loud as if she is in labor goes near the screen and points at the nose of baby Fiona, runs to David and touches his in shock and disbelief saying, ‘Look at their nose’s, their nostrils are the same size, big enough to fit a penny inside.’

Shacking Up Before He Puts A Ring On It.

Kai and I were discussing the issue of shacking up before getting married.  We tackled this issue from different perspectives, and weighed our answers based on the analysis of shacking options.

Shacking up before getting married gives you the opportunity to know the person before committing to life imprisonment. Ever heard the saying, ‘You don’t know a person until you live with them’.  When you are in a shackless relationship, you are pretty much oblivious to the others daily routine.  But, in a shacked up situation you become aware of what the other does at a more acute level. The little things that you found ‘cute’ no longer seem the same. They slowly start to become annoying with a capital ‘A’.

WORLD AIDS DAY

Today is World Aids Day!

According to the World AIDS Day organization……..> http://www.worldaidsday.org/, ‘World AIDS Day 2010 is all about raising awareness to tackle HIV prejudice and help stop the spread of HIV.

The Bus Again!!!

I was on the bus AGAIN! I use public transportation as my mode of transport. It’s great, efficient and what’s more FREE!  I had a basket of errands to run, an appointment to make, and woke up late.

This blogging job ain’t for sissies! We usually sleep at 5.a.m. in the morning. Let me save that for another day. So miss thang, in a hurry to make it happen today forgot about her appearance. Tank and jeans it was, hair combed in a muffled afro out the door I was! You get the picture.

There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel

My love for men in uniform was further reinforced earlier this week. There were some renovations being done at the library and as such, I expected to see toned, hardworking men with construction uniforms going on about their business.  What I saw almost killed my men in uniform are fwiiiine spirit.

Fine but with kids

I was at the mall today and spotted the finest man on earth.  He was sculpted like a Mandigo warrior,  tall, handsome, tastefully tatted up, his swag was fresh just like his clothes were and I could go on and on.  Women of all ages, races and nationalities were sizing him up too. It was like a vulture scene out there straight from one of the National Geographic scenes.
