Corinne Bailey Rae’s new single + album

Spotlight – Corinne Bailey Rae

Meet Corinne Bailey Rae, a British singer and songwriter, and guitarist. Corinne had a breakthrough in the music industry with her number one self-titled debut album, and has sold over 4 million worldwide.

Corinne Jacqueline Bailey was born on February 26, 1979 in West Yorkshire, England. She began her music career at the performing arts school, where she studied classical violin. Corinne started out singing in church. She became musically diverse from performing different kinds of music in church, and later her youth leader offered to lend her money to purchase her first guitar.

Piggy Dolls?

A new South Korean female group has emerged (this industry is packed with girl groups), and they’re not you’re usual kpop group. The Piggy Dolls (creative name) are made up of three average (not stick skinny) girls with wonderful vocal abilities. Their debut single “Trend“, is basically about the girls being confident with their appearance and not conforming to the norm of the kpop industry. The group has already released their EP “Piggy Style” on January 6, so be sure to purchase it on yesasia.

JASMINE’s latest is an odd “One”

Japanese pop singer JASMINE released the music video for her latest single called “One“, and i’m a little confused by it. There were some interesting choreography, but then there were random flashes of JASMINE in black and white triangles; her wardrobe and the background literally blended. The song is actually quite good, but those little parts of the music video were a turn off. If I were her, I would re-release it without the black and white confusing and obviously not creative sections. Anyways, watch the video below to see for yourself where i’m getting at:

Britney teases her fans!

The demo version of Britney Spears’ new single “Hold it Against Me” was leaked earlier this week, but her vocals were missing from the track. She tweeted about the leak saying “If you think that’s good, wait til you hear the real one on Tuesday“. Crystal ‘sox’ it to Lee Dewyze

American idol runner-up Crystal Bowersox’s debut album “Farmer’s Daughter“, outsells Lee Dewyzes’ album “Live it Up“. What’s the point you might ask? well, Lee Dewyze was actually the winner of the show last season. Crystal’s album sold over 106,000 since it’s release on December 14, while Dewyze sold 102,000 since his record came out on November 16.

Both albums are pretty good, and you guys should definitely support their music and purchase the records if you haven’t already. Check out Crystal Bowersox’s debut single “Farmer’s Daughter“, and Lee Dewyze’s “Sweet Serendipity” live below:

TVXQ Releases “Keep Your Head Down”
