Book Review – ‘Come Home’ by Lisa Scottoline

When Jill’s distraught ex-stepdaughter Abby brings news of her ex-husband’s death, her world is thrust into turmoil. Was it an accident or murder? Is she willing to sacrifice her future for her past to uncover the answers?

Does the invisible thread exist regardless if you’re blood related or not? Well, in Lisa Scottoline’s latest book, family is certainly defined in a way one would not expect.

Come Home is intense from start to finish; Scottoline’s immediate reveals were clearly a set up for the bigger eye openers, and you’ll absolutely feel awakened by the end. This book lived up greatly to the previous ‘Save Me’, and I’m positive we have another best seller on our hands. Continue reading “Book Review – ‘Come Home’ by Lisa Scottoline”

The Hunger Games: Hit or Miss?

Stop with the comparisons already, ‘Hunger Games‘ is far from ‘Twilight‘ and even better. If you thought this was going to be another cheesy love struck teen flick about mythical species glistening in the sunlight then I suggest you read the book and watch the film to understand just what exactly is going on. ‘The Hunger Games‘ is a dystopian novel/film depicting the formation of various groups. Apparently, a youngest is chosen to represent his/her region and is sent to participate in the ‘Hunger Games’, a strategic and very much horrific survival of the fitness challenge where people will die.  Continue reading “The Hunger Games: Hit or Miss?”

Book Review – ‘Starters’ by Lissa Price

A girl with a terrifying choice. Her parents? dead. Her brother? sick. Her way out? Get paid to be somebody else. Who can she trust? No one.

Callie Woodland had to make a tough decision. She was just about fed up with living the life of an unclaimed minor and wanted much more for herself and her brother. Prime Destination was her final resort. The thought of allowing someone else take control of her body detest her, but what other choice did she have? It was either this, or remain living a life of uncertainty and fear until getting institutionalized.

What would you do to not only survive, but to give your only living relative a better chance at life? Lissa Price intrigues us with her new novel; depicting human reaction to desperation, while embarking on a scientific thrill ride that entertains and educates. Starters will certainly get your heart racing.  Continue reading “Book Review – ‘Starters’ by Lissa Price”

’10’ Facts About Jessie

Jessie Harrell released her debut novel “Destined” last November but many, including myself, are still very much infatuated with how intriguing and well written it is. It’s a wonderful introduction to the world of YA novels and a definite breath of fresh air from the usual vampires, werewolves, and demons. Jessie is a lover of Greek Mythology and this is the biggest inspiration behind her writing so I’m pretty much anticipating her future releases if she’s continuing on with this concept.

The author not only granted us an exclusive interview but also took on our ’10’ quick questions and provided some really interesting answers. Check it out below: Continue reading “’10’ Facts About Jessie”
