Cardi B feat. Megan Thee Stallion ‘WAP’: Here’s the thing…

Let me start off by saying I get it, there are gatekeepers in the music industry and unfortunately, women are pushed to be sexual in order to sell. But seriously? Couldn’t Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion rap about something else? Or maybe make the song more tasteful? WAP, which by now I’m sure everyone knows what that stands for, cannot be played in mainstream … Continue reading Cardi B feat. Megan Thee Stallion ‘WAP’: Here’s the thing…

[Review] Young Jeezy’s “TM 103: Hustlerz Ambition”

Released: 12.20.2011

TM:103: Hustlerz Ambition” sounds like the soundtrack to a man’s journey to the top and his cockiness about staying there. There’s bitterness and aggression towards haters, but definitely love and appreciation to well wishers. Amidst the story there are a few about ambition, motivation, and intimacy. No other rapper like Young Jeezy self-proclaims himself as a living legend on every record released. Does that mean he’s too absorbed in himself? Absolutely not. The ATL native is just super confident in his artistry and enjoys keeping it real. Continue reading “[Review] Young Jeezy’s “TM 103: Hustlerz Ambition””

For Thought: Rap icon dies

Isn’t it ironic how only a couple of hours after he tweeted his feelings on the death of boxing legend Joe Frazier that 44 year old rapper Heavy D himself would pass on? It’s ironic in deed, and now the entertainment industry has lost one of its biggest rap icons. According to Yahoo news, at around 11:25am a 911 call was made outside the rapper’s residence in Beverly Hills, where he was reported to have been lying Continue reading “For Thought: Rap icon dies”

B.o.B sees “Strange Clouds”

The “Airplanes” guy has returned with a new single called “Strange Clouds.” And if you take away the strange fart sounds from the dub-set effect and Lil Wayne‘s ridiculous rap and puppy noises in some parts, this song is actually enjoyable. I mean, it’s already aiming for number one on iTunes, so either that means B.o.B has a strong fan base, people will support the “Airplanes” guy no matter what he does (cause that song still has a strong effect on them), or “Strange Clouds” is obviously just that good. So be sure to listen, purchase, and tell us what you think.  Continue reading “B.o.B sees “Strange Clouds””

Nicki Minaj “Flies” with Rihanna

Ms. Barbie has revealed her latest work of art. The music video for the single “Fly,” which features pop singer Rihanna, has various concepts ranging from scenes inspired by a disaster movie to straight up ninja assassins. And Rihanna has never been so covered up in a video these days so I must give her props for that too. I really like the purpose of … Continue reading Nicki Minaj “Flies” with Rihanna

Bad Meets Evil “Lighters” ft. Bruno Mars

Bad Meets Evil, rap duo formed by Detroit’s finest Eminem & Royce Da 5’9, have released the music video for one of my favorite tracks on their EP called “Lighters.” The single features the talented pop singer Bruno Mars, providing his raspy vocals on the catchy hook. I like the concept which depicts the rappers trying to cope in two separate situations. Check out the … Continue reading Bad Meets Evil “Lighters” ft. Bruno Mars

Diggy “Copy, Paste”

I’m late but still wanted to show some love to Diggy Simmons on his latest music video “Copy, Paste“. Experiments, DNA, Lab testing, you name it, anything that has to deal with cloning a person to create another that is just as talented is emphasized in the video so check it out and tell us what you think. Also, make sure to purchase the new … Continue reading Diggy “Copy, Paste”
