The Jewel of the Mediterranean

Tunisia a very popular North African destination with a climate that rarely dips under 20 degrees; basically, it’s  literally a hot spot all year round. It offers superb beaches, spectacular desert scenery and a wealth of historical sites dating back nearly 3,000 years to when the ancient city of Carthage dominated the entire western Mediterranean.

Although the smallest nation in North Africa, Tunisia’s eventful and often dramatic history has been the result of its strategic position. Over the centuries, the country which was once the exclusive home of the Berbers, has, at one time or another, been settled on by most of the world’s greatest powers; from the Phoenicians, Romans and Vandals to Byzantines, Arabs, Ottomans and French. These people have come and gone, leaving their mark upon Tunisia in varying degrees, and providing a rich cultural and social heritage that is unique to this land. Qatar welcomes you…

Qatar is an Arab emirate, in the Middle East, occupying the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeasterly coast of the much larger Arabian Peninsula. Its sole land border is with Saudi Arabia to the south, with the rest of its territory surrounded by the Persian Gulf.  The history of Qatar is inextricably bound to that of the surrounding region, while the nomadic lifestyle of much of the population of the Arabian Peninsula has resulted in the same family names reappearing around the Gulf. By now you’re probably thinking that this place is so unknown but that’s what I love about it. It’s not as popular of a tourist destination, but it’s different and I want to visit a place I’ve never been to before. So let’s get things started! Continue reading “Qatar welcomes you…”

Postcard from Samoa

Found in the heart of the Pacific Ocean and half way between New Zealand and Hawaii, Samoa is an exotic location consisting of ten islands offering their own unique natural beauty and tranquility. Another place inspiring me even more to do some travelling. How do I begin to describe the luscious sceneries? It’s a spiritual feeling in a sense. Samoa relieves the mind of intensity and fills the soul with peace. From the fantasy like waterfalls, to the mysterious rainforests, the islands certainly have a lot to offer. I don’t think you can fill your cup on just one visit; it’ll definitely take several more trips to fully experience Samoa’s wonderful culture and all it has to offer.  Continue reading “Postcard from Samoa”

A Taste of Paradise: Montego Bay, Jamaica

Expect no flashy gimmicks at Doctor’s Cave Beach Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica, a warm and welcoming family owned gem located on the “hip strip” of the beautiful city. My family and I had the amazing opportunity of spending a weekend at the hotel, and our time there was everything but regretful. In planning our trip, we researched different hotels in Montego Bay and Doctor’s Cave stood out the most. Its setting is described as “intimate” and “storybook-like”. Those words definitely grabbed our attention because we were looking for a hotel that had not only tranquility but a homely vibe. Continue reading “A Taste of Paradise: Montego Bay, Jamaica”
